The short version
1800 Salvage runs this referral program and makes the final call on every reward. The Rave provides the app that tracks your referrals and pays out rewards once 1800 Salvage approves them.
- Sign up, get your own referral link and send it to someone with a vehicle to sell.
- If they submit their vehicle through your link and 1800 Salvage buys it, you earn the reward shown on the campaign. No sale, no reward.
- Once 1800 Salvage approves your reward, those funds are available to you within 24 to 48 hours, ready to withdraw.
How it works
- You sign up. Open a sign-up link from 1800 Salvage and verify your mobile number in The Rave app. You get your own referral link.
- You share your link. Send it to someone who has a vehicle to sell.
- They submit their vehicle. They open your link and fill in 1800 Salvage's online estimate form with their own details. The Rave records that the referral came from you.
- 1800 Salvage takes it from there. It contacts them, assesses the vehicle and decides whether to buy it. Any sale is between 1800 Salvage and the seller, under 1800 Salvage's own terms. Timing follows the seller's deal with 1800 Salvage, not the date you shared your link or the referral was submitted.
- 1800 Salvage approves your reward. Once the seller has been paid and the vehicle has arrived at a partner yard with its condition confirmed, 1800 Salvage approves your reward. It can take 2 to 3 days for a vehicle to work through 1800 Salvage's system to this point.
- You withdraw it. Within 24 to 48 hours of approval, those funds are available to you, ready to withdraw. Pick a payout option in the app. The Rave pays it out through its payment partner.
The Rave sends you updates by SMS or email as your referral moves along.
Who does what
1800 Salvage
- Runs the program and sets the reward for each campaign.
- Assesses vehicles, makes offers and buys vehicles under its own terms.
- Decides whether each referral qualifies for a reward.
- Funds every reward paid under this program.
The Rave
- Provides the app, tracks referrals and pays out approved rewards. See Where The Rave fits in, below.
You, the referrer
- Share your link honestly and follow the fair play rules below.
- Keep your account and payout details accurate.
- Pay any tax that applies to your rewards.
The person you refer
- Uses their own real details when they submit their vehicle.
- Deals directly with 1800 Salvage about their vehicle and any sale.
Who makes the final call
1800 Salvage has the final say on vehicles, referrals and rewards, including whether funds are released. That covers:
- Whether a referral meets these terms, including duplicates and self-referrals.
- Whether a reward is approved, held or cancelled.
- Reward amounts and campaign rules.
- Whether it buys a vehicle.
1800 Salvage acts reasonably when it makes these decisions, in line with these terms and its standard terms of business.
The Rave has the final say on use of The Rave app, including account access and how payouts are processed. If The Rave spots something that looks like fraud or misuse, it can pause a reward and flag it to 1800 Salvage. 1800 Salvage then decides whether the reward is paid.
If you think a decision about your reward is wrong, contact 1800 Salvage and ask for a review.
Where The Rave fits in
The Rave (The Rave Technologies, Inc.) runs the technology and the payouts. Everything to do with vehicles and reward decisions sits with 1800 Salvage.
The Rave does
- Runs The Rave app, where you sign up, get your referral link and see your rewards.
- Records link opens and vehicle submissions, and matches them to 1800 Salvage's sales records.
- Sends you updates about your referrals.
- Pays out approved rewards on 1800 Salvage's behalf, through a third-party payment partner.
- Helps with logins, referral links, rewards and withdrawals.
The Rave doesn't
- Assess, value or buy vehicles.
- Decide whether a referral qualifies or a reward is approved.
- Set reward amounts or campaign rules.
Rewards and payouts
When a referral earns a reward. All of these need to be true:
- The person you referred submitted their vehicle through your referral link, using their own details.
- 1800 Salvage wasn't already dealing with them about that vehicle.
- 1800 Salvage paid the seller, and the vehicle arrived at a partner yard with its condition confirmed.
- The referral follows these terms.
How much. You get the reward that was showing on the campaign when the vehicle was submitted, even if the campaign changes later. Rewards are in Australian dollars. If a campaign also rewards the person you refer, the campaign will say so and the same rules apply.
One reward per vehicle. If a vehicle comes through more than one referral link, only the first valid submission counts.
Getting paid. It can take 2 to 3 days for a vehicle to work through 1800 Salvage's system until the seller has been paid and the vehicle has arrived at a partner yard with its condition confirmed. Timing follows the seller's deal with 1800 Salvage, not the date you shared your link or the referral was submitted. Once 1800 Salvage approves your reward, those funds are available to you within 24 to 48 hours, ready to withdraw. Withdraw it using the payout options in the app. Options may change, and any fees or minimums are shown before you confirm. The Rave's payment partner processes withdrawals, so timing can vary by payout option.
Cancelled sales and mistakes. If a sale is cancelled or reversed, 1800 Salvage can cancel the reward. A reward paid by mistake or through fraud can be cancelled, or you may need to pay it back.
Fair play
To join, you need to be 18 or over and based in Australia. To keep the program fair:
- Have one account, in your own name, with your own mobile number.
- Don't refer yourself, or a vehicle you or your business own.
- Don't submit anyone's details without their permission.
- Don't spam. Only share your link with people who'd be happy to hear from you.
- Don't pretend to be 1800 Salvage, or promise anything on its behalf, like a price for a vehicle.
- Don't advertise using 1800 Salvage's name or brand without its written permission.
If a referral breaks these rules, 1800 Salvage can refuse or cancel the reward. The Rave can pause or close any account that misuses the app.
Changes and other terms
Changes. 1800 Salvage can change rewards, pause campaigns or end the program. These terms may also be updated, and the date at the top will change. If a change affects you, you'll be told by SMS or email. Changes don't affect referrals submitted before the change.
Other terms. By signing up or sharing your referral link, you agree to these terms. The Rave's Customer Terms cover your use of The Rave app, and 1800 Salvage's terms and conditions cover any vehicle sale. If The Rave's Customer Terms say something different about this program, these terms apply. These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
Your rights. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Privacy. To run the program, The Rave and 1800 Salvage share the details needed to track referrals and pay rewards, such as names, contact details and referral status. See The Rave's privacy policy and 1800 Salvage's privacy policy.
